ACOUSTIC FLOATING CEILING

INTRODUCTION

Acoustical barrier ceilings are the most commonly used as resiliently suspended ceilings. In years past they might have been plaster on wire lathe, but modern construction is two layers of gypsum board 2400*1200*12mm dimension screwed together with staggered joints. Every effort is made to seal the perimeter and any infiltrations. While these ceilings are still lightweight as compared to concrete floating floors, they do have sufficient mass to act as no ise barriers and they can safely be sealed and installed according to requirements.

INTRODUCTION

Acoustichangers are elastic elements used generally for ceiling suspension in order to acquire vibration and noise insulation. Acoustic isolation hangers are an excellent way of restraining airborne noise from below passing into the building structure or restraining noise/vibration from the floor above entering the room below.
